HANDCRAFTED Natural Windowcoverings 

The quality and character of each weave begins with the careful examination and selection of premium natural fibers. During harvest season, we work with farmers in close proximity to their weaving facility.

Hartmann&Forbes selects only the finest rapidly-renewable materials using strict measures for color, texture and durability. After loom preparation, which includes dying, sun bleaching and hand-tying each fiber, a loom master weaves their signature textile designs using a complex rhythm of warps and wefts. Artisans at their Oregon finishing facility then carefully craft each Roman and Roller Shades, Drapery and Top Treatments to the designer’s precise specifications. Through this process, each Hartmann&Forbes branded shade becomes a one-of-a-kind masterpiece to be appreciated for generations.

Woven-to-Size

The hallmark of the Woven-to-Size Grassweaves and  Papyrusweaves Collection is the loom-finished edge. A true made-to-order weaving and crafting process, premium natural fibers are custom woven to the precise window dimensions seamless up to 180” wide for Grassweave and up to 120″ wide for Papyrusweave. This meticulous time-honored weaving technique delivers an exquisite shade-edge detail.
