Somfy is excited to work together with Molex by providing solutions for automated shading via Power over Ethernet (PoE). The Molex CoreSync EcoSystem Alliance is made up of companies that are working together to expand and improve network connected services. The Alliance is committed to developing seamless integration options for commercial spaces. 

Like Somfy, the CoreSync EcoSystem Alliance is committed to improving energy efficiency in projects of all sizes. Somfy has even embedded CoreSync technology into all of our PoE Gateways. 

Utilizing Somfy’s PoE technology means having the ability to take advantage of all that PoE has to offer. PoE allows for the delivery of data and power over one cable, simplifying installation and keeping infrastructure costs low. PoE technology also allows for ease of movement, and the collection of data can create more robust data analytics. This means commercial spaces can have better insights into power distribution and can make more informed choices on how best to create a more energy-efficient space. 

Creating smarter buildings is always a priority for Somfy, and one reason we are excited to work with Molex on this project. Smart buildings that utilize automated shading can take advantage of natural lighting to improve occupant comfort, increase productivity, and impact wellness. Automated shading also helps with energy efficiency, creating buildings that are as comfortable as they are eco-friendly. After all, addressing common sources of energy waste can save up to 15% in energy costs annually. 

The benefits extend past just energy savings to the people who reside in these spaces. Creating smarter buildings can better address the needs of occupants, creating a comfortable environment for people to do their best work. In fact, wellbeing and productivity levels increase by 13% in work environments containing natural elements. Enhancing lighting conditions can improve productivity by as much as 23%, according to a World Green Building Council study.
