Always Up for a Challenge 

An architect designed a beautiful architectural feature: ceiling to floor trapezoid windows following the roof line. The windows provide an amazing view of the water. But how do you provide a degree of privacy while maintaining the view and controlling heat? Bottom-up custom DEL solar shades are the perfect answer.

The dealer had a client who wanted to block the glare from the sun, IMPROVING the view to the outside but wanted the two large 120" shades to raise from the bottom instead of the traditional lowering from the top. Using a black solar screen fabric along with DEL’s bottom-up system did the trick flawlessly.

How do you block the glare on a flat screen TV when the windows are not rectangular? A DEL blackout angled top shade is the answer. This client desired a minimalist look and opted for the shade to be exposed. Clean lines and contemporary colors match the aesthetics of the room.

Heat gain from the sun penetrating the large angled top windows was impossible to control. Tinting the windows was of little help. The HVAC ran continuously but could not cool the room. The dealer turned to DEL for a custom solution.
