Window Works was founded in 1982, with Rich already familiar with Somfy through his previous long-time tenure as the Northeast Regional Manager at KE Outdoor (formerly Durasol Awnings). Transitioning from a wholesale focus to a retail-oriented approach, Rich and his team bring an unmatched product expertise and emphasize delivering holistic solutions tailored to the homeowner's lifestyle. “We don't sell products; we bring solutions,” says Rich. “Our expertise lies in understanding how the homeowner lives in their space and providing products that enhance their living experience.”

Rich highlights their strong relationships with interior designers and builders, contributing to 90% of interior side of their business. “Our Standard Operating Procedures and organization are the backbone of our successful business,” he explains. Window Works extends its services beyond a 30-mile radius, often reaching clients in the Hamptons, driven by a reputation for professionalism and swift response. 

 Window Works is renowned for its high-quality awnings and innovative shading solutions. “Our meat and potatoes are the lateral arm retractable awnings,” Rich shares. “We were early adopters of the Pergola category, which has driven much of our growth in a competitive market. We love every product we offer and look forward to sophisticated challenges.” From day one, Window Works has embraced Somfy motorization. The original owner’s early adoption of Somfy products at a trade show set the stage for the company’s long-standing commitment to innovation. “We have been offering Somfy motorization since the beginning, integrating it into our business with ease and enthusiasm,” says Rich. 

Rich also acknowledges the invaluable support from Somfy representatives, particularly Fabio Ziccardi, Regional Sales Manager. “Fabio has been THE GUY. It’s rare for us to need help, but when we do, Fabio and the team are quick to assist. Their commitment is what you look for as a customer,” he notes.
