What is BACnet?

BACnet stands for Building Automation and Control Networks and is a communication protocol that allows building automation products to talk to each other. BACnet was developed in 1987 under the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, or ASHRAE, and has been the standard since 1995. There are many benefits to BACnet products, but the major selling point is that BACnet products speak the same language, so you can use any BACnet-conforming system to combine multiple products.

The animeo IB+ TouchBuco™ BACnet is our smartest shade controller for Wired Technology motors manageable over BACnet IP and allows for zone status feedback, sensor values feedback, and zone control. It automates both interior and exterior shading controls including interior motorized shades, draperies and blinds, and exterior motorized screens, rolling shutters, and even window automation with linear actuators.
