Dancing with the Stars Cast Member Alan Bersten Upgrades SoCal Space with Somfy

As a professional dancer, precision and elegance rank among the most crucial attributes for Bersten. That's why, when he was searching for motirized shades, he chose Somfy.

Bersten struggled with a challenge that most Californian's are familiar with – the sun! On average, there are 258 sunny days per year in California. This means that most days of the year @AlanBersten found himself adjusting the blinds to keep the sun out, to keep temperatures in his home down and protect his new furniture. UV (ultraviolet) radiation from the sun can cause damage to various materials and fabrics over time and some materials like natural wood and colored materials, including fabrics and paper, can experience fading and color changes are more sensitive to UV damage than others.

One of the best ways to keep your house cool and prevent sun damage is to utilize blinds and shades. You can even add an extra layer of added convenience by automating your window coverings.

Somfy Expert dealer Accurate Shade & Blind installed fully automated shades in Alan’s home that can be open or closed with the push of a button. Each individual shade can be programmed to automate independently of the others, say if the sun is especially oppressive in the bedroom in the mornings. Shades can also be grouped together to close simultaneously in the living room and eliminate glare on the TV when watching your favorite shows like Dancing with the Stars.

For Alan, who often works from home when not on the dance floor, this was an investment in his home and workspace. After renovating almost his entire home with new furniture, this was the finishing touch to create a more convenient and comfortable living space.

Also compatible with Alan’s shades is the Somfy TaHoma® Switch. TaHoma® serves as a gateway between your Somfy powered motorized products and your favorite smart home assistants like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Home, Philips Hue and more.
