Somfy motorized screens were the perfect solution. Deb from Seeking Lavender Lane, a lifestyle blogger in New Jersey, has been updating her ranch farmhouse home to make it perfect since 2018. One of the first things she updated was her home’s front porch – Deb dreamed of a beautiful outdoor space where she could spend time on warm days. What she did not love were all the bugs! She also worried that putting screens up would decrease the natural light that came into her home. After searching for the right solution, she found Somfy motorized screens – an option that lets her enjoy her front porch bug free and then tuck the screens away to let in the light when she’s inside! “This allowed us to have that old-fashion screened in porch feel with the new-school idea of being able to tuck them away when we weren’t using them,” says Deb. “We are just in awe of this product and I can say every person we have showed it to so far has been super impressed with it too. It's a great conversation piece!” Not only do the screens allow for more natural light when she's inside, they will have a longer life since they can be put away for winter, bad weather and high wind. In a climate like New Jersey's, this makes a big difference in how long an outdoor product like screens will last. If you're ready to fully utilize your front porch, while still allowing lots of natural light inside - and full use of your front door for guests - get started by connecting with a local dealer. Deb says using the technology is simple and intuitive – just a push of a button opens or closes the screens and she can enjoy her outdoor space – with no bugs! Learn more about her project here.
