The Window Covering Manufacturers Association names Somfy’s new Set & Go Connect™ app, which simplifies installation and programming, as Best Technical Innovation for 2019.
Somfy, the world’s largest manufacturer of tubular motors for interior window coverings and exterior solar protections, is proud to accept the Best Technical Innovation award from the Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) for the new Set & Go Connect™ app. The Set & Go Connect simplifies the programming and installation process for Somfy-powered shades, blinds and draperies for both manufacturers and installers.
Somfy’s new commissioning app allows installation directly from a smartphone and/or tablet app and provides step-by-step programming instructions. The Set & Go Connect app is free to download in the iTunes App store and on Google Play and works with Somfy’s upcoming line of Zigbee motors, as well as Somfy’s new TaHoma® hub.
This simplified programming procedure provides copy and paste settings for programming multiple shades. Users can also personalize motor names for easier identification on the job site. Now installers and manufacturers can enhance productivity and minimize time in the factory and on the job site, streamlining the process and maximizing profits.

The new Set & Go Connect app reduces error and makes life easier for installers and manufacturers. Intuitive on-screen step-by-step instructions eliminate mistakes and reduces the need for training. Scan a QR code and create direct communication using Bluetooth technology between your device and the motor, eliminating the risk of cross-programming and enhancing security.

As always, the annual WCMA Awards acknowledge the best of the window covering industry’s new products, educational, and merchandising programs. Winners are selected by a panel of judges and awarded based on criteria such as innovation, quality, and impact. Winners were selected in 10 categories, and Somfy was honored to be awarded in the Motorization and Automation category for our innovative Set & Go Connect app.
