Somfy myLink™: Changing Your WiFi Network Information
In this post, we'll show you how to change the WiFi network information for your myLink.
You can easily update the myLink WiFi network information if needed. For example, when you change your WiFi provider, install a new router, or change your user name or password, you will need to update your myLink app with the new information.
Watch the below video or read the instructions below:
In your myLink app go to the main menu and select Add. Click Next and follow the instructions to put the myLink device into Set Up mode.
With a paper clip or a small screwdriver briefly press the programming button located on the device. See the example below:
The LED will blink red and then turn solid red. Back on your phone or tablet, switch over to your Network Settings and click on WiFi.
From the list select the Somfy network. It will say Somfy with an underscore followed by four characters. See the example below:
Go back to your myLink app and select “Search for MyLink.”
Select the network field and choose from available networks. Choose the new network and enter the password if necessary. Press Next.
If you get an error on Step 3, switch back to your network settings and make sure the phone is connected to the same network you are trying to connect the myLink to. Once both are on the same WiFi network, you will see Step 3 turn green and move on to Step 4.
Select Continue and you will see a message saying that the myLink is already configured. Once you see that message, select Continue again. Click Next and you are done. Your myLink is now connected to the new WiFi network!
If you have multiple myLinks you will need to repeat the steps for each myLink device.
