Smart updates make the myLink™ app even better!

The newest updates to Somfy’s myLink™ app (version 4.9 for iOS and Android) and firmware (version 4.9) make it even easier to control your blinds, shades, awnings, screens, rolling shutters and more from your favorite mobile device. Enjoy voice control with our new Amazon Alexa skill, integrate more easily with third-party home automation systems and control even more motorized products.

Here are a few of the new features available with the latest myLink update:

Now Compatible With Amazon Alexa

Open your shades with just a phrase! Enjoy convenient voice control of connected RTS products with your Amazon Alexa-enabled device. Use voice control to operate individual products or group channels set up in your myLink app. Once your myLink is updated to the latest firmware, an easy setup wizard will help link your myLink to your Amazon account. 

Use voice commands to control channels and scenes, manage schedules, list all system commands and even ask for help. Now when you say “Alexa, tell myLink to open living room shades,” your shades will open so you can enjoy the afternoon sun. Enjoy the wow factor of voice commands and make controlling your motorized applications even more convenient!

More Flexibility for Individual and Group Control 

Newer myLinks will now be able to support up to 16 channels of RTS control. You can tell if your myLink is one of these devices by checking to see if your myLink’s device ID begins with a CC. This new feature is especially helpful when there’s a need for lots of customized individual and group control options in a single zone. You can even tell Alexa to ask myLink to “let the sun shine in,” and raise all your RTS motorized shades at once!

Please note that this doesn’t change the myLink RF range best practices. The myLink is still a zone controller and Somfy recommends installing one per room near the RTS products you wish to control.

Expanded Compatibility

New myLink updates also expand compatibility with third-party home automation systems, providing more integration support. If you have a Control4 system, the myLink now supports Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP), which simplifies integration.

The myLink also supports integration into Crestron and Savant. For integrators, it is now even easier to add custom features and maintain consistency from project to project. Drivers and more information is available at somfysystems.com/integration

Know Your Own Strength 

A new WiFi signal strength indicator displays the health of your connection, helping you address connectivity problems before there’s a performance issue. 

Intuitive Delete Options 

Having trouble deleting old scenes and schedules? Delete buttons now appear on edit screens for scenes and schedules, allowing for a simpler and more intuitive experience. The former delete option of hitting the edit button and swiping to the left is also still available. Now you can more easily keep your myLink up-to-date with only the scenes and schedules you use.

Open your blinds with an armful of groceries with a simple phrase thanks to myLink’s Amazon Alexa skill or close your rolling shutters when you hear a storm report at the office from your smartphone. Plus easily integrate Somfy with popular third-party home automation systems.
