How to Connect Your myLink App with IFTTT and Create an Applet?

Creating a home automation experience is easier than ever now that the Somfy myLink is an IFTTT service! IFTTT allows the myLink™ to communicate with other smart home solutions easily.
IFTTT (If This, Then That) is a service that allows you to connect other services together. When an action happens with one service, IFTTT automatically triggers a separate action in another service. For example, when your connected thermostat hits 80 degrees, your Somfy-powered shades close to conserve energy. Now, your connected devices and apps work together to create the ultimate ambiance, automatically.
Connecting the Somfy myLink service with IFTTT is easy! We’ll walk you through the steps.
After downloading the IFTTT app from iTunes or Google Play and creating an account, here's how to connect the myLink to IFTTT:
Sign in with either your Google account, Facebook account or your email. If you are signing up with a new email address, select Start.
Next, to get started creating a connected experience for your motorized shades, select Create Your Own.
Then, select (+) This.
Now it's time to search and select your desired trigger service. Here we'll show you how to use Google Assistant for voice control of Somfy-powered RTS shades.
Next, select the trigger command. To create a voice command for Google Assistant, select “Say a simple phrase."
On this screen, you can choose to configure Google Assistant using a simple phrase, such as, “I’m Home Now.”
On this screen, you can also enter the voice command or commands you want to say to Google Assistant, as well as how Google Assistant responds. Select the desired language and when you're finished, it's time to create your trigger.
Select + That in order to link your trigger with an Action service. In the search field, type "Somfy myLink" and select the Somfy myLink icon to continue.
You'll see two options: "Move a Connected Product" and "Play a Scene." You'll need to select Play a Scene. Remember, scenes are created in the myLink app.
If you haven't yet created a scene in the myLink app, go create a scene, and then come back to this step.
Next, we’ll add your Somfy myLink account to IFTTT. To do that, select Add, and choose the account provider associated with your connected device. In this example, we are using our Google Gmail account.
Now let’s connect myLink!
You will need the activation code generated in the myLink app to continue. To retrieve it go to your myLink app, select Integration from the main menu and select IFTTT.
Copy the Activation Code and go back to the IFTTT app to paste it into IFTTT. Then select OK.
Now we're ready to create an Action! Select your desired scene (that is already present in your myLink app) and click Continue. You can also edit the title here so it's easy to remember.
Then just select Finish once you're done.
Congratulations! You’ve created an IFTTT applet using the Somfy myLink service!
Your myLink service is now connected to IFTTT and you’re ready to start using Applets to control your connected products, including motorized window coverings!
