How to Adjust the Upper and Lower Position of Motorized Roller and Solar Shades
Welcome to the video guide for adjusting the upper and lower end limits of a Somfy RTS motor while in User mode.
These instructions are suitable for all of the Somfy RTS motors listed on screen.
In this video, any references to LED color or behavior only apply to motors that have an LED indicator to provide additional feedback for universal programming steps. Not all motors have an LED indicator.
Orange LED light means the motor is in programming mode.
Five green blinks confirm that a programming step is memorized.
Five red blinks indicate low-battery mode – the battery will need to be recharged soon.
A red LED blinking continuously means the motor is in thermal protection mode – please wait for it to cool down before proceeding.
If you would like to adjust and reset one or both of the end limits of a motor that is already installed and programmed, start by using the UP or DOWN button to move the shade to the end limit you wish to adjust. Let’s start by adjusting the lower limit first. Press the DOWN button to move the shade to its lower end limit.
Press and hold the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously until the shade jogs up and down. The LED on the motor will blink orange slowly during the limit adjustment. Next, use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the shade to the new desired end-limit position. Press and hold the MY button to confirm the new position. The shade will jog up and down. The shade is now in User mode.
Now, we’ll adjust the upper end limit. Press the UP button to move the shade to its upper end limit. Now press and hold the UP and DOWN buttons simultaneously. The shade will jog up and down. The LED on the motor will blink slowly in orange during the adjustment. Next, use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the shade to the new desired end-limit position.
Press and hold the MY button until the shade jogs up and down confirming the change.
Both end limits have now been adjusted.
The shade is now in User mode, ready to use and enjoy.
